We have a dear friend of ours whose husband is a Marine and he was recently deployed to Iraq. The kids and I have been praying for Josh, for safety while serving our country and for his wife, Robin, as she is now a newly wed and without her hubby for about 7 months. God has been faithful to help the transition go well for both of them and to give them opportunities to talk often. Samuel thinks Mr. Josh is especially cool because he is a Soldier and not just any soldier.....he's a Marine!! Samuel can hardly wait to color pictures for Mr. Josh and make a care package for him for Christmas. To thank us for our prayers and concerns Robin sent the kids and us a present today--USMC shirts for all five of us and USMC teddy bears for the kids. What a HIT this was!!!!!!!! Samuel has been sporting his USMC shirt all day with no plans to take it off anytime soon!! Here's a few shots of us in our new t's!!

Fernbank Museum
We spent a wonderful day at Fernbank Museum in Atlanta. This was the first trip for the kids. They were enthralled from the first minute when they laid thier eyes on the giant dinosaur replicas. The polar display was a lot of fun for them, especially education alley. The kids were able to see penguins, dress like penguins, try walking on pretend ice with polar bear feet and even practice carrying eggs like a penguin between their feet. Their smiles were priceless!!

Trick or Treat Time

Halloween was a fun evening for our family. The kids were super excited about dressing up in their costumes. Wilson asked if it was time to dress up as soon as his feet hit the floor Friday morning! We had some friends and family over, ate some pizza, got ready in our costumes and headed out at dark for Trick or Treating. Emma wasn't so sure about what to expect at first---this was her first time trick or treating. But, after the first house she realized she got candy, lots of candy! So, she was all in after that. The kids literally ran from house to house and laughed and smiled until they wore themselves out. The costumes were great- Eric in the back as the mad scientist, our friend, Sam, as a pirate, Emma as a cat, Wilson as a dragon and Samuel as Darth Vader. Quite a crew!
