Happy Spring

Happy Spring from the Echols! We hope this time of year reminds you of how blessed we are. It is amazing to watch how God created this amazing world and how He renews it each spring. The gorgeous flowers, dogwoods and tulips remind me each year of the beauty of His creation. Enjoy!

Getting Warmer

It is getting warmer here...spring is just around the corner! We are all enjoying longer days and warmer weather! The kids love to go outside and going to the park is one of their favorite things to do. Eric took them to the park Tuesday evening and they had a ball taking off their shoes and playing in the sand. Looking forward to many spring days ahead.

Happy Anniversary

We had a wonderful Anniversary Trip to Orlando, Florida this month! Perfect weather, great seafood, and lots of time to relax and unwind. We couldn't have asked for a better time. We spent one day at Universal Studios. This was my first time going. It was so much fun!! March is the time to go---no crowds and the lines were super short. Our favorite ride was the new Simpson's ride. The kids had a great time with their grandmothers while we were gone. They were extra spoiled for a few days.

Firsts

I had to share what Eric posted on his blog today......so true!! Firsts are wonderful to get to experience! Looking through the eyes of a child can change your perspective on "normal life".

From Eric:

Well it finally snowed in Atlanta yesterday. Emma has been wanting to see snow all winter. Spending her first 4 years in Taiwan…she had never seen snow before. It started snowing after church so the whole way home, she kept telling Nicole …”this is my first time to see the snow”. She was so excited! She loved the snow but kept saying that it’s too cold! Man, does she take after her mommy or what??

One of the fascinating aspects of adoption is that our daughter gets to verbalize all of her FIRSTS…her excitement & wonder is contagious. Too often we take the little things for granted…seeing God’s goodness in the snow, slowing down to actually enjoy a meal, & taking in the beauty that surrounds us. My prayer is that I will take the time to experience life and take it all in, not simply rush through the day and miss out on ALL the beauty that surrounds me.

We enjoyed a RARE occurence today....SNOW!! The kids were super excited to see the snow falling when we left church this afternoon. They could harldy wait to get outside to play. Emma kept saying "It's my first time to build a snowman, Mommy". All three kids had a ball playing, running, laughing and throwing snow balls. Their snowman was too cute--the hair was Daddy's idea!!
