The area where we are staying in Taipei is Tien Mu. We had fun exploring parts of the area today. We started with a great breakfast and coffee (praise ye the Lord for coffee) at our hotel. We were able to meet with James today, from our agency. It was a great time to talk to him and get to know him better and gain insight since he and his wife have adopted two children from Taiawn. It was very fun to hear more and here of some experiences and expectations during this process as well as our itenerary for the coming days. We set out exploring after that. We found some great open markets today. I bought a super cute pair of shoes for about $10 so you know more...I had struck gold for the day. :) We had a great dinner tonight after an afternoon rest (still fighting the jet lag-12 hours difference in time here and at home). Dinner was at Fang's Restaraunt tonight wehre the pork and shrimp dumplings were out of this world. So yummy!! We checked out a litle festival after that where some local crafts were for sale. Lots of interesting things to see. We have done a lot of pointing and charades today trying to communicate with store owners and waitresses...bit of a communication barrier but we figured out what they were saying and they figured us out too so that was good.
The boys are doing great. Talked to them briefly a few minutes ago. Samuel and his grandpa, Bop, caught a ten pound catfish yesterday and Samuel was ecstatic to say the least. THey even cleaned it and ate it last night for dinner. MEme said she has never seen a five year old eat so much catfish. Wilson wasn't so sure about the catfish but still thought it was fun to help try to catch a fish. He caught one as well...a little smaller bass. So, the boys are super happy with Meme and Bop this weekend. I am so glad. I sure am missing them. It is good to have internet and cheap ways to call home.
We are getting excited to go to Tainan soon and meet Emma for the first time.
I am super jet lagged so I am heading to bed. Ready for another fun, exciting day of exploring tommorow. We will be meeting up with another family whose here to adopt from our agency tomorrow. We briefly met them last night.
